As a Yale-trained nurse-midwife, I’ve supported hundreds of people along the journey to parenthood and have attended births in a diversity of settings- from homes in southern Oregon and upstate New York, to a freestanding birth center started by nuns on the Texas-Mexico border, to urban and rural hospitals in Connecticut, New Hampshire, the Diné/Navajo Nation and Washington state.  

As a mother, I’ve enjoyed two physically active pregnancies and gave birth to both our daughters at home.
